Julia
Julia Winery is a family winery established by father and son, George and Anan Araf. The winery is named after the mother of the family, Julia.
George is an agronomist by profession, and Anan is a chemical engineer who decided to follow his heart and dedicate himself to growing vines and winemaking after many years in the industry.
The family members planted their first vineyard together in 2009 in a sloping area between ancient olive trees and natural oak groves. Cabernet Sauvignon vines were planted in the vineyard, and it is grown to this day as a "Baal" cultivation (without irrigation except for rainwater), to obtain stronger and more present wines. Two more vineyards were planted in 2022 in the highlands of Mailia, in which the varieties Viyonier, Syrah and Cabernet Franc were planted.
Today, the grapes for the winery are harvested from the family's vineyards, as well as from Galilean vineyards in the Baram area and the Ben Zimara vineyard. The wines of the winery represent the Galilean terroir in a great way, some are light and fresh and some are heavy and complex.
The winery is in the heart of Mailia village in the Western Galilee, where they offer an on-site hospitality experience, with wine tasting accompanied by light meals.
